WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS

We all need to be alert to potential scams. Whether it be by text, phone call, email, or even someone showing up at your front door, scammers may use a number of techniques to target you.

Below are a few clues that you are being targeted by a scam:

  • Feeling pressured, threatened, or a sense of urgency to comply with their demands,
  • Being asked to purchase gift cards and provide the codes as a form of payment,
  • A stranger asking you to cash a check for them or send money by wire transfer or online payment,
  • Someone threatening you with law enforcement action,
  • Getting asked you to deposit a check that overpays for something you're selling,
  • Receiving a payment for something you did not sell or purchase.

We want to help you keep your money and your identity safe! We'll work to help you get your money back; however, once you send funds or gift cards or authorize a transfer, the odds that you get your money back are low.
